Belize is nestled between Mexico to the north, Guatemala to the west, Honduras to the south and the beautiful Caribbean Sea to the east. Over 50% of our lands are covered by pristine forests holding many historical stories left by our ancestors for you to discover. There are over 450 islands, often referred to as cayes, along the entire coasts of Belize. Tobacco Caye, located approximately 12 miles southeast of the coastal town of Dangriga (30min boat ride), is one of the smallest cayes in Belize and the Southwater Caye Marine Reserve. Covering over 4 acres of land, our home island is perfect for you to explore especially since it is hugged by Belize’s Great Barrier Reef.
Travelling to Belize is easier than ever with non-stop flights from the USA from Houston, Dallas, Miami, Atlanta and more. Air Canada and WestJet have also recently started offering roundtrip flights from Toronto, Canada to Belize. When you’ve arrived in our beautiful country, you can choose many modes of transport from Phillip Goldson International Airport (PGIA) to Dangriga:
- Fly via Tropic Air or Maya Island Air to Dangriga Municipal Airport (estimated travel time is 15-20 minutes)
- Take a private shuttle from PGIA to Dangriga (estimated travel time is approximately 2 hours)
- Rent a private car from one of the rental companies at PGIA (estimated travel time is approximately 2 hours)
- Take a public bus from Belize City bus terminal to Dangriga bus terminal (estimated travel time is 2.5-3 hours)
When you’ve finalized your travel plans to Dangriga, our reservations team will coordinate complimentary on ground transportation from the municipal airport or bus terminal in Dangriga to the marina at Gra Gra Lagoon where our boats depart from. Tobacco Caye is just a beautiful scenic 30 min boat ride from Dangriga.
If you are travelling by a private shuttle or rental car, the map below will guide you to the marina. Secured parking is available for a nightly rate of $5 BZ per car. Getting to us is as easy as that!
